Our trip to St John's

On Sunday, we left St Pierre at 4 :00 pm.

In St John’s, we took the bus to our apartments and relaxed a little.

That evening, we had supper at Tim Horton’s and we went bowling. It was amazingly cool!

On Monday morning we went to Geo center where we saw planets in 3D and played with rovers. We also learned about comets, meteorites and stars.

For lunch we had a picnic : we had sandwiches, apples and chocolate bars.

Later, in the afternoon we climbed up Signal Hill and discovered its history and Cabot Tower. The view was wonderful and the weather was great !

For dinner we ate at Jungle Jim’s and it was delicious.

Finaly we played football in the garden of Hillview Terrace.

The day was very interesting but exhausting !

On Tuesday we visited the Rooms,which includes a museum, an art gallery and the Newfoundland Archives. It was very interesting. The weather was really nice!

For lunch we ate macaroni and cheese. During our lunch, we had the chance to see and listen to an Irish music band who meets at the restaurant every Tuesday.

After our meal we learned an Irish dance with Shawn Silver and his friend Jennifer. It was very funny !

For supper we had pizza at the apartment.

After we went to the cinema and watched the movie “If I stay”.

On Wednesday, we went to Placentia for the day. We did an audio tour at Castle Hill, visited an archaelogy center and the O’Reilly museum where we saw a map with French names, a tombstone belonging to a Basque fisherman and pictures of floating houses. We also visited St.Luke’s Angelican church. It was really sunny and hot.

When we got back to St John's, we stopped at Bowring Park to see the Moose and the Monument in tribute to the Newfoundland soldiers who served during the Great War.

For supper we went to Ches’s and had fish and chips. It was delicious !

On Thursday we went downtown to do our challenge game about Newfoundland traditions. We asked questions to the salespersons. We went to an art gallery where some of us met the artist Jean-Claude Roy. The weather was good. It was a fun day !

In the afternoon, we wrote a postcard to Mrs Cambray and did a mail art activity ! It was interesting !

On Friday morning we packed our stuff and cleaned the apartments.

In the afternoon, we went to Avalon mall where we bought a stamp for our letter and lots of things.

After shopping, we took the bus to the airport and finally we got on the plane for Saint-Pierre. It was finally the end of our trip and time to come home !!
